Those in rail jobs are helping to implement thousands of pounds worth of improvements at Telford Central station.
Network Rail has teamed up with London Midland and Telford & Wrekin Council by launching an £800,000 revamp of the West Midlands station.
Construction workers will ensure that the main building is re-glazed, swing doors will be replaced by automatic ones and toilets will be upgraded to provide disabled access.
London Midland commercial director Alex Hynes said he was "delighted" that plans had been finalised.
"We're bringing significant improvements to Telford Central station," he commented.
"There have been improvements in punctuality of services and this investment will really benefit passengers using Telford Central."
The development, which is hoped will be completed next year, is part of the National Station Improvements Programme.
Construction work recently drew to a close at the new £1.5 million railway bridge in Colwall.
The bridge had initially been closed in 2007 over concerns regarding its safety.
