It has recently taken the motion of becoming involved with 13 British charities.
Iain Coucher, chief executive at Network Rail, said of its latest commitment: "As we help deliver a vital public service we know the importance of being a responsible and active member of the community."
He added that the organisation is responsible for touching most areas of Britain and said that it is keen to play a role in making life improvements for anyone it can, to try and make a difference.
In terms of monetary value, the charity involvement has seen the company part with £250,000. This is on top of providing volunteers and the work to assist its employees' chosen charity, the NSPCC.
As an organisation, the NSPCC works on the proviso that everyone can make a difference for a child. Its vision is to bring an end to child cruelty in Britain, believing that such behaviour can be prevented.
