Business Development Manager/Sales Executive in Morecambe, Lancashire, United Kingdom

We are currently looking for a Business Development Coordinator/Manager (BDM) / Account Manager to work in our high spec offices in Heysham. You'll work within our Engineering Recruitment Team which will comprise of 16 employees.

Our offices are open plan with a family friendly atmosphere. As an Investors in People GOLD business, any of our employees have worked for us for decades; some having come out of retirement to soak up the atmosphere once again. The Recruitment/Sales floor is energetic and competitive with a wonderful mix of characters. On the support side of the business Martin makes a wonderful brew and Iain, our Payroll Administrator will thrill you with his conspiracy theories whilst you enjoy views out over Heysham Port and Morecambe Bay. Our chef Gareth will tantalise your taste-buds with his daily specials that are provided to staff completely FOC.

Successful applicants must have previous experience of Business Development / Sales experience preferably within the Recruitment/Staffing Industry.

We deliver contingent (temporary/contract) and direct hire (permanent staff) recruitment and project solutions within the Power, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Construction and Aerospace Sectors working for Owner/Operators, Consultancies, Contractors and Sub-Contractors.

Reporting to the Sales Director, responsibilities include:

  • Offering a consultative sell
  • Taking the lead on incoming sales opportunities
  • Identifying opportunities for growth
  • Source leads from within our own and group internal data
  • Source own leads and develop
  • Identifying prospective clients that are a good fit to our core market strengths
  • Development and further penetration of existing clients
  • Re-introduction of former clients
  • Development of live non-revenue generating clients (terms agreed, vacancies listed)
  • Identifying major projects and developing business utilising our subscriptions
  • Maintaining and continual improvement of core industry/market knowledge (awareness of projects, clients, competitors)
  • Negotiating commercial terms, i.e., attractive margins, exclusivity periods etc
  • Identification and integral part of bids and tenders
  • Cascading market/industry information and client meeting feedback
  • Frequent liaison with the recruitment line managers
  • Contribute to the weekly "wash up" meetings
  • Identification and attendance at industry / networking exhibitions and events
  • Development of a sales & marketing strategy and business acquisition plan

- Marketing budget proposal and substantiation

- Return on investment analysis of current spend/exposure

- Use of existing tools and proposal of new sources for lead generation

- Review, analysis and recommendation of relevant exhibitions/events

- Membership/affiliation recommendations

  • Recording all correspondence/communication in CRM and contributing to the development of the CRM
  • Taking the lead on sales/marketing collateral (social media, brochures, presentations, memberships, directory and job board listings)
  • Identification of recruitment team sales training needs and development thereof
  • Input into group business development teleconferences and meetings
  • Oversee the different functions/departments to provide and develop a world class service for our customer base
  • Suggest ideas for continual improvement
